Meet Me "Behind the Bleachers" - Wet n Wild Snapped with This One!
Hello, beauties. Yet again it has been a while since the last review. So sorry for the slackage! (I blame my hormonic skin and eye bags for getting in the way of my semi-photogenic shine). Anyways, let's get right to the point.
If you don't know by now, red lipstick is my shit. So of course the moment I spotted Wet n Wild's "Behind the Bleachers" lippy in Walmart, it was in my hand before my brain could tell me no. I mean, I knew I said I was only going to Walmart to grab some paper towels and coconut oil, but did you really even go to Walmart if you didn't check out the beauty aisle and leave with at least one product?
Similar to the "Berry Recognize" lipstick also from Wet n Wild's MegaLast Liquid Catsuit line (here ya go: Wet n Wild "Berry Recognize" review), this is a transfer-proof liquid lipstick with a gorgeous, heavily pigmented color. Since I'm already in love with the Wet n Wild brand, and had a great experience with the aforementioned Berry Recognize, I knew I was going to love this before I tried it.
As I expected, this lipstick went on smoothly and effortlessly. Always a plus. And it didn't feel dry on my lips, instead feeling like buttered air (if that makes sense). I still moisturized my lips before putting this on because matte lipstick has the tendency to squeeze every drop of hydration from them. But I think you might be able to get away with wearing this lipstick without pre-hydrating your lips first. Again, might.
It's pigmented enough that one coat properly coated my lips, but I still put on two coats just because I like to be extra. When I looked in the mirror at the finished product, I knew this lipstick was the one. To test if it would come off of my lips if my lips made contact with something, I kissed the back of my hand. No lipstick came off! The ultimate test was when I kissed my boyfriend. (He silently puts up with me inadvertently painting his lips every time we kiss). As soon as I got the chance to kiss him, I immediately checked to see if he now also had poppin' red lips. Nope. The lipstick didn't budge at all!
The staying power of this lipstick is also amazing. I put it on in this morning, and aside from touching it up here and there when I ate, I didn't have to reapply it at all. In fact, I was too lazy to wash it off my face at night, and my lips still looked perfect when I woke up the next day. *I do have to say that after wearing it to bed another night and waking up to find that my boyfriend's white t-shirt and my lipstick had become very acquainted in our sleep, this will leave a mark on something if you somehow rub your lips all across it (sorry, white tee!). But, my lips still looked fabulous in the morning (maybe due to the fact I was wearing two layers of lipstick instead of one).
Now while this lipstick is perfect, it's not without its weaknesses, so as always, I do have to mention that eating greasy foods will take some of this clean off, which makes sense considering coconut oil can be used to remove it (I mean, it does have to come off somehow). So keep that in mind, lovelies.
I'm telling y'all, "Behind the Bleachers" had me feeling myself so much it was almost rated R. If I didn't like to switch up my lip color every day, I'd wear this every day. It's that awesome.
