It's Not "Mysterious" Why I Love This Lipstick - A Perfect L.A. Colors Lipstick
Red lipstick is so classic and iconic that I advocate for every woman to own at least one. Even though foolishness has arisen in the past with people trying to dictate who can and who cannot wear red lipstick (looking at you, A$AP Rocky), baddies of all shades can rock this color for any occasion and look like the bosses you are.
Now, that being said, I do think some reds break the rules and are universally flattering on all skin tones. L.A. Colors (LAC) is one company who has blessed us with an affordable red lipstick that fits under that category - the Mysterious matte lipstick:
I found this lipstick in Family Dollar, but I believe it can be found in many locations, including grocery stores and Walmart. At first, I didn't think this two dollar and some change lipstick was going to blow me away. I just wanted something cheap to spruce up my lips while I was out of town and away from my makeup hoard. But when I swiped this on for the first time? Honey, it was love.
Though I dabbed on some lip balm before applying it, this was the first extremely affordable matte lipstick I had ever bought that felt almost like a powdery silk on my lips. You might think I'm exaggerating, but this is probably the only matte lipstick I would dare to wear if I had no lip balm to soften the drying effect first. Ok, my lips would probably still get dry, but at least not like "Spongebob when he went in Sandy's house trying to be fancy and shriveled up" dry.
This is one lipstick that I think not only would look great on just about anyone (as it lands in that sweet spot between "too light" and "too dark"), it also fits perfectly in any place and time, whether it's going to work, attending a formal event, date night, or just chilling in the house (like me). It brings pizazz to your face, shying away from a boring or dusty look. And it continues the legacy of classic red lipstick. I think LAC deserves a round of applause for this one!
